Being Single

Introducing the Dealing with BS Blog

This blog is the creative space for a book I have been writing. Before giving myself more credit than I deserve, I have been writing this book for about six years now. Why has it taken so long? Well, because I have been dealing with BS. BS is Being Single. To be clear, this blog [and the book] are about being single. All forms and varieties of the experience from agonizing and excruciating heartbreak to healing and empowerment. From hopelessness and mourning to optimism and excitement for potential. In the last six years, I have sought understanding and research, in mental health, in love, and most importantly, in my own lived experience of being single. I combine my passion for analysis with my even more significant commitment to uplifting the authentic narratives of people of a lived experience. Take a look at “about me” to get a closer glimpse into who I am, my professional qualifications, and my intentions that I outlined in this journey of connecting with you.

This blog/book is designed to support:
(a) People experiencing heartbreak, (b) people experiencing being single in general [positively or negatively], and (c) folks looking to support loved ones, friends, or family members who are dealing with (a) or (b). So, everyone in the entire world.

Worthy of Authenticity

How you think about yourself is at the center of your dating experiences. If you are projecting any identity that is not genuine, you may be setting yourself up for restrictive and bounded love.

Hope: A Beautiful Word

Feeling hopeless? Remember, there is joy in hope, and hope, by definition, is expectant. The barriers you overcame [will overcome] are the connecting points to transform heart, minds, and spirits all througout this world.

Unpacking the Baggage

I’ve learned that there is power in testimony. So I can’t speak about unpacking baggage without being transparent about my baggage. I look at so many beautiful and wonderful people who are single who have been hurt time and time again and wonder how this could happen?
